We meet at the Marcia Coles Community Room of Bartolotta’s Lake Park Pavilion(lower level).

Where are we headed in the next 30+ years?  Hear the long-range plan for our region from SEWRPC Deputy Directory, Kevin Muhs.

SEWRPC addresses issues of land use, parks/open spaces, environment, housing, and transportation that cross corporate boundaries and local units of government.  It includes seven counties:  Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Walworth, Washington, and Waukesha.  More information can be found at http://www.sewrpc.org/SEWRPC.htm.

What a fabulous opportunity for only members  of HWTN!
This year’s Breast Cancer Showcase home is right in our HWTN area… Last year it was featured in Oconomowoc.  No waiting in line for the public tours… plenty of time to ask questions of the knowledgeable tour guides. Take as much time as you desire to tour each of the incredible, historic rooms, uniquely designed/decorated by top area designers.

Cost is $20 per person, check payable to WBCS (Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showcase) and mail to HWTN PO Box 668, Milwaukee, WI 53201.  Checks due by Saturday, June 10, 2017. This $20 cost is the discount cost for the in advance public tour, thus this is an incredible value for our private tour/garden party. RESERVE YOUR SPACE EARLY… pre-registration is necessary.

As with all our garden parties, our attending members should bring either an appetizer or dessert to share, their own beverage (bottle of wine, etc.), and own glass.

Below is the preliminary schedule for 2017 Home & Garden Parties.

Please assume a 7:00pm start time, unless noted.  The parties are free but are open only to members. Typically each guest brings a dessert or appetizer as well as their own wine or beer and drink glasses.  More detailed information will be sent prior to the event – Mark Your Calendars!

Fun Spring Clean up of neighborhood parks and WaterTower area on Earth Day with HWTN members.

Doggies and kids helped, too! Thanks Andrew Brusky for hot coffee, fruit, juice and sweets to make this fun day even sweeter!  Burr bushes were quite aggressive!

HWTN April Monthly Meeting

Please join us for a friendly gathering of your neighbors and meet Nader Sayadi from the UWM School of Architecture & Urban Planning to discuss “What’s Old is New”.

We meet at the Marcia Coles Community Room of Bartolotta’s Lake Park Pavilion(lower level).

7:30pm  Program: “What’s Old is New” with UWM School of Architecture & Urban Planning: Nader Sayadi

Nader Sayadi is a doctoral candidate at the UWM School of Architecture and  Urban Planning.  He is also working as an intern with Milwaukee’s Historic Preservation Commission.   Adaptive reuse of historic buildings and spaces is a topic as old as it is new because humans have been re- purposing structures as long as they have been building them!  Nader will give us some good examples of local successes and losses.

Earth Day Neighborhood Clean-up, Saturday, April 22, 2017, 10am-12 Noon at Back Bay Park

The day is a lot of fun! Our volunteers pick up trash in the neighborhood parks which piles up over the winter.

Please meet in Back Bay Park and we will work north. Bring garden gloves and weather appropriate attire. Bags will be provided as well as doughnuts, juice, and coffee.
