Lake Park’s Pokémon GO Activity and Historic Concrete Bridge Future to be Discussed with Top Officials Sept. 7

Pokémon GO activity in Lake Park and the future of the Historic Lake Park Concrete Footbridge will be the topics for a panel of top city and county officials at 7 p.m. Wednesday Sept. 7, 2016, at Lake Park’s Marcia Coles Community Room, beneath Lake Park Bistro.

The discussion, part of HWTN’s regular monthly meeting, will include a question-and-answer session.

Panelists include Milwaukee County Parks Director John Dargle, Jr.; Milwaukee County Parks Chief of Operations Guy Smith; Milwaukee County Parks Safety, Security & Training Manager John Nelson; County Supervisor Sheldon A. Wasserman, who represents our area; County Supervisor Jason Haas, the Chair of the County Board’s Parks, Energy & Environment Committee; Milwaukee County Officer of Corporation Counsel, Deputy Corporate Counsel Colleen Foley; Milwaukee County Executive’s Office Constituent Services Coordinator Carly Wilson; Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Deputy Inspector Tobie Weberg; Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Tricia Carlson; Milwaukee Police Department Captain Eric Moore, who runs the department’s First District, which includes our neighborhood;  Milwaukee Police Office Thomas Kline, District 1 Community Liaison Officer; and Milwaukee Alderman Nik Kovac, who represents our district.

sept meetingThis summer, Lake Park has been attracting hundreds of Pokémon GO players daily, generating numerous complaints from nearby residents. Search “Pokémon GO” and “Lake Park” for news stories about the issue.

Also, the county is considering the future of the deteriorating historic concrete footbridge over Ravine Road. Details are available here.
